300 laptops were distributed to SMIU students by Chairman of the Sindh HEC

In Karachi, the Sindh HEC Chairman Dr. Tariq Rafi, joined by Sindh Madressa tul Islam University’s Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, and the Regional Director of the federal HEC, Javed Ali Memon, handed out 300 laptops to students from various departments. This distribution was part of the Prime Minister Youth Program Laptop Scheme and took place at the university’s auditorium on Tuesday during a special ceremony.

Dr. Tariq Rafi, speaking at the event, commended the federal HEC for supporting the bright and deserving students of the nation by providing them with laptops, a crucial aid for their academic journey. He stressed the importance of connectivity in today’s digital era, highlighting the necessity for students, faculty, and researchers to remain linked with the global community through technological devices. According to Dr. Rafi, embracing modern gadgets is pivotal for the academic advancement of students and the overall progress of the country. He also underscored the current challenges faced by both faculty members and students, emphasizing the need for a focus on quality education, a vital element for national development. Praising the decision made by the federal HEC a decade ago to distribute laptops to deserving students, he highlighted the tool’s significance in academic and research pursuits.

Drawing attention to the recipients of laptops from the esteemed institution associated with Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Dr. Rafi urged these students to contribute significantly to the nation’s future through their dedication, commitment, and hard work.

Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, the Vice Chancellor of Sindh Madressa tul Islam University, echoed the sentiments, remarking on the transformative power of technology in the 21st century, emphasizing how it has reshaped the world.
