Isra University Wins HEC Inter-University Badminton Championship

Isra University emerged victorious at the HEC Inter-University Badminton (Zone-K) Championship 2023 held at Quaid-e-Awam University, Nawabshah. The final showdown between Isra University, Hyderabad, and Quaid-e-Awam University ended with Isra claiming victories in both the singles and doubles finals by identical margins.

Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Qazi, Vice-Chancellor of Isra University, graced the event as the chief guest. Amidst the championship fervor, Dr. Qazi had the opportunity to explore the central library of Quaid-e-Awam University and was highly impressed by the facilities. He also shared his insights and appreciation in the Feedback book.

The Isra University team, consisting of Owais Imtiaz and Ghulam Asghar from the civil engineering department, showcased exceptional skills. In the singles final, Owais Imtiaz clinched victory with a score of 21-19, 17-21, and 21-17, while in the double’s finals, the duo of Owais Imtiaz and Ghulam Asghar secured a win with scores of 21-18, 19-21, and 21-17.

Isra University’s triumph earned them a spot in the national HEC Inter-University badminton championship finals scheduled for January 2, 2024, at the University of Faisalabad, marking their qualification for the prestigious event.
