BHC Orders Retake of SBK Tests for Education Department Vacancies
The court directed HEC to conduct tests before February 29, 2024, and complete all procedures by March 31, 2024. Additionally, an inquiry report on tests for 8690 teaching staff vacancies by SBKWU was ordered.
The judgment, obtained by Pakistan Today, highlights gross illegalities in the Education Department, particularly during the tenure of the former Education Minister. The SBKWU’s test was deemed against the Balochistan Government’s recruitment policy, lacking qualification, experience, or testing services for school-level staffing. Appointments were criticized for nepotism and corruption, impacting future generations.
BHC criticized the Recruitment Policy 2019 for lacking transparency and not aligning with court judgments. It rebuked SBKWU for subcontracting tests to a private service, violating policies despite previous court rulings against such practices.
Despite attempts to involve external universities, only IBA Sukkur and NUML showed interest. NUML was approved, but the Chief Minister sought interest from Balochistan universities. SBKWU’s bid was accepted despite dissatisfaction with private testing services.
The court ordered a new advertisement for applications within 15 days, initiating testing by January 15, 2024, to conclude by February 29, 2024, and completing the process by March 31, 2024.
