After Punjab, KP extends the winter school holiday till January 7
Amid harsh winter conditions, the Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has declared an extension of winter holidays for both public and private educational institutions until January 7, following Punjab’s lead.
A notice from the provincial education department emphasized this move, citing the pervasive freezing temperatures as the reason for keeping schools shut across the province until the specified date.
This prolonged break mirrors actions taken in Punjab, where the winter’s severity has also prompted an extension of school closures. Beyond weather concerns, the extension is linked to organizing training sessions for teachers involved in elections, impacting the adjusted reopening date for schools.
The primary goal of this decision is to prioritize the safety of students, teachers, and staff. It acknowledges the difficulties posed by the current weather conditions affecting educational institutions throughout the region.
