AJK Declares School Closure Amid Cold Weather Conditions
Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has officially declared the closure of educational institutions from January 5 to 15 due to severe cold and foggy weather conditions.
The Deputy Commissioner of Bhimbhar issued a notification, emphasizing strict repercussions, including closure and cancellation of registration, for schools found in violation of this directive.
Maintaining a zero-tolerance stance toward negligence affecting students’ health, Bhimbhar DC Mirza Arshad Jaral dispatched orders to the administrations of the three tehsils to ensure compliance.
Meanwhile, in Punjab, the School Education Department (SED) and Higher Education Department (HED) have also prolonged the winter vacation for all public and private schools in adherence to the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) order.
As per their latest notifications, the winter vacation in Punjab will now extend until January 9, 2024, overriding the prior schedule that had initially set the winter holidays from December 18 to December 31.
