“Islamabad’s FDE Forms 30-Member Advisory Council for Schools”
The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has established a Federal Schools Advisory Council (FSAC) comprising educators, led by Shazia Rizvi. This council aims to tackle school-related issues, fostering a connection between policymakers and the broader school community.
The FSAC, detailed in a notification from the FDE, is tasked with identifying and addressing challenges in curriculum, teaching methods, and assessments. Additionally, it will strategize for optimal infrastructure use and focus on students’ well-being, including mental health and extracurricular activities.
Furthermore, the council will assist in policymaking, ensure collaboration with local communities, and periodically review its terms to adapt to evolving educational needs.
Special Secretary of Education, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, highlighted the council’s role as a bridge between schools and policymakers. This initiative aims to involve school heads and teachers in policy formulation, providing valuable input from the school community.
Wani mentioned plans to involve parent-teacher councils in the development process and emphasized the importance of community involvement in the progress of educational institutions. He stressed the significance of local communities’ ownership of schools in their vicinity.
