- To be eligible for admission, candidates must have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in both SSC and HSSC or equivalent exams, as determined by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) equivalence. Those from the FA/FSc stream can apply based on their Part-I results, but admission confirmation is contingent upon providing the FA/FSc certificate or Detailed Marks Certificate.
- Non-FSc stream candidates with qualifications such as Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate, British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level), American High School Graduation Diploma (9-12th Grade), International Baccalaureate Diploma (DP), or any equivalent qualification must obtain an equivalence certificate from IBCC, Pakistan, with at least 60% marks in relevant groups/subjects.
- Candidates with O/A Level or other foreign equivalent qualifications can apply with an O Level (SSC) equivalence certificate from IBCC but must provide an A Level (HSSC) equivalence certificate for admission confirmation. It is recommended that candidates with foreign qualifications contact IBCC, Pakistan, well in advance to obtain equivalence certificates with over 60% marks in required subjects/groups. Failure to address any deficiencies or provide IBCC equivalence certificates before classes commence may result in admission cancellation at any stage.

C. MBBS Admission
Foreign Seats: NSHS is allocated 15% of seats for foreign students. A foreign student is defined as an individual holding a permanent foreign nationality or an overseas Pakistani (a Pakistani citizen residing permanently in a foreign country). To qualify, the student must have completed and passed the HSSC 12th-grade examination or its equivalent outside Pakistan and be a resident of a foreign country during the admission application, with a certificate from the last attended institution supporting this status.
Verification of Credentials: The Registrar Directorate is tasked with verifying the credentials of admitted students, including their SSC, HSSC, or equivalent qualifications, and NUMS MDCAT results. The finalized and verified list will be submitted to PM&DC, serving as a certification of this verification. The University has the authority to cancel provisional admission if a student’s credentials are not verified.
Registration of Admitted Students with PM&DC: Once the Registrar Directorate confirms a student’s credentials, PM&DC will register them as a medical student.
Payment of Fee: Foreign students are required to pay the prescribed fee exclusively in foreign exchange, which may be higher than the fee for Pakistani students. Tuition fees can be paid in installments on a quarterly, six-monthly, or annual basis, with a 0% discount for quarterly, 2% for six-monthly, and 4% for annual payments. Defaulting in fee payment may result in expulsion from the medical program, with a two-week grace period to clear outstanding payments.
Transfer/Migration Policy: No transfers are allowed in the first two years of the MBBS program.
Vacant Seat: The Registrar Directorate will publicly display vacant seats for at least 14 days, with PMDC informed within this period. A three-working-day window will be granted after the closure of admissions to fill any remaining vacant seats due to student offer cancellations, using respective waiting lists.
