AIOU has extended the registration deadline for convocation till January 5th

The Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, has decided to extend the registration deadline for the upcoming convocation until January 5th, 2024.

This extension follows numerous requests and strong insistence from students. Those who have graduated between the Semester of Autumn 2004 and the Semester of Spring 2022 are eligible to participate in the convocation. Criteria for eligibility include graduates with 75% marks in B.Ed programs, at least 70% marks in all other degree programs, as well as all MPhil and PhD graduates. The AIOU Convocation 2024 is scheduled for January 31, 2024, at the esteemed Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad. Dr. Arif Alvi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Chancellor of the University, will grace the event as the chief guest. The convocation will be presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood.

A diverse array of dignitaries and esteemed individuals, including federal ministers, secretaries, senior officials from HEC, vice-chancellors from various universities, renowned journalists, eminent social personalities, deans, professors, principal officers, faculty members, and AIOU students, will participate in this auspicious convocation. The AIOU administration has diligently completed all preparations for these upcoming ceremonies, which are set to take place in Muzaffarabad and all provincial capitals, including Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, and Peshawar.

On January 31, 2024, students from Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Rawalpindi Division (Attack, Chaklala, Jhelum, and Rawalpindi) will partake in the convocation ceremony held specifically at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad.
