Another Cohort of Newly Inducted Faculty Members is Trained by HEC
On December 26th, 2023, the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), operating under the Higher Education Commission (HEC), successfully concluded the Second Cohort of the National Faculty Development Programme (NDFP). This initiative aimed to support newly appointed faculty members from higher education institutions (HEIs) and took place at the HEC Regional Centre in Peshawar.
Twenty-two educators from HEIs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa actively participated in this comprehensive training program. At the certificate distribution ceremony, Ms. Noor Amna Malik, the Managing Director of NAHE, graced the event as the chief guest. In her address, she commended the participants for their dedication and successful completion of the program.
Ms. Malik highlighted the primary objectives of these development programs, emphasizing the importance of empowering faculty members with the necessary tools to address learners’ challenges. She stressed the need to cultivate critical thinking and practical skills essential for today’s job market and society, aiming for a sustained and impactful learning experience.
Throughout the program, diverse sessions covered a wide spectrum of topics including Effective Teaching and Learning, Course Design, Lesson Planning, Assessment and Evaluation, Integration of Technology in Teaching, Learning Management Systems, Grant Writing, Publishing Research, and Personal and Professional Development.
The learning objectives were achieved through a range of engaging activities such as interactive sessions, presentations, and module-related assignments, fostering an enriching educational experience.
