Dr. Shehzad Jeeva New Global Chief Education Officer at International Baccalaureate
Renowned educational leader Dr. Shehzad Jeeva, head of the Aga Khan University Examination Board, has been appointed as the Global Chief Education Officer of the International Baccalaureate, signifying a significant milestone in global education.
Taking charge on January 2, 2024, Dr. Jeeva will operate from The Hague, Netherlands, contributing his expertise to enhance worldwide education initiatives. This historic appointment not only marks a personal achievement for Dr. Jeeva but also serves as a groundbreaking moment for Pakistan, being the first Pakistani to hold such a global position in an international examination body.
The International Baccalaureate, present in 160 countries and catering to over 2 million students across 5,500 schools, offers diverse programs, including diploma programs significantly popular in Pakistan, fostering students’ academic and personal growth.
Dr. Jeeva, recognized as a leading advocate for education reform in Pakistan, has contributed extensively to strategic government education ministries, influencing policies at provincial and federal levels. His visionary leadership during the COVID-19 crisis earned praise from the Pakistani government.
He also holds prominent positions in key national and international educational institutions, reflecting his commitment to advancing education in Pakistan and globally.
