Education for All Pakistan
The progress of a nation and the well-being of its citizens hinges greatly on education. However, in our country, the fundamental right to education for our children is being neglected. Across Pakistan, there exist numerous ghost schools devoid of both teachers and students. Essential textbooks, crucial for a child’s education, are in short supply.
Not only are textbooks scarce, but their soaring prices have made them unaffordable for many. Consequently, families struggling with the cost have been forced to cease their children’s education. This dire situation is a significant deterrent to pursuing education, posing a grave challenge to the nation’s advancement.
Reports indicate a staggering 95 percent increase in textbook prices within a year, compounded by the overarching issue of inflation. Numerous families already find it arduous to provide basic sustenance, let alone afford these essential educational materials. The scarcity and exorbitant cost of textbooks add an extra burden to their hardships.
Regrettably, the government has fallen short in providing quality education to its people. It must awaken to this pressing issue and eliminate all barriers obstructing education. Free provision of textbooks to every student is a crucial step towards rectifying this situation and fostering an educated society, essential for the country’s progress.
