Education Minister Addresses QAU Sub Campus Delay in Punjab
“Education Minister Takes Action on QAU Punjab Campus Delay and Hostel Conditions”
Federal Education and Professional Training Minister Madad Ali Sindhi reacted strongly to the prolonged delay in the Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) campus development in Punjab. In a meeting with the HEC Planning Advisor and QAU’s P&D Director, he initiated an immediate inquiry, demanding a report by January 4, 2024, stressing that these delays significantly hinder the academic path of the youth.
Madad urged swift resolution of pending issues by HEC and QAU, emphasizing coordination with the Punjab Government for expedited construction. Holding departments accountable for inefficient management, he emphasized the need for immediate action.
During a surprise visit to the QAU Islamabad Campus, Madad inspected the hostels, expressing dismay over their condition and poor maintenance. Student grievances regarding insufficient academic facilities like internet availability were brought to his attention. Responding promptly, he ordered an immediate overhaul of the hostels, recognizing that basic facilities are essential for effective studying.
Expressing concern about international student exchange programs, he highlighted the need to improve local institutions before inviting foreign students. Stressing the urgency of the situation, Madad instructed relevant authorities to address these issues promptly to avoid limitations on opportunities for students.
