Principals Empowered for Teacher Leave Approval
“Education Ministry Empowers School Principals on Teacher Leave Approvals”
The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) delegates directors’ powers to school principals regarding teachers’ leave issues, per a Ministry of Education notification. This decision, made during a meeting chaired by the acting secretary of education, aims to empower school heads and streamline leave approval processes for teachers.
Acting Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani highlighted the need for trust and empowerment of school heads, emphasizing that this shift in authority enables teachers to obtain leave approvals directly from their school heads, eliminating the need to visit FDE and other offices.
The notification extends this delegation of powers, including financial authority, from higher positions to ensure smoother operations within the FDE. Furthermore, plans are underway to modernize 23 identified schools, providing advanced IT equipment and improved facilities. Training programs for teachers align with efforts to enhance the quality of education.
The ministry’s focus on both infrastructure and teacher development aims to restore the prominence of Islamabad’s schools and colleges, making them appealing choices for parents and students alike. Various initiatives are being implemented to achieve this goal.
