Punjab Adopts Revised School Timings and Uniform Guidelines
“Punjab’s Special Education Department Adjusts School Hours and Dress Code for Cold Weather”
To tackle the cold spell, Punjab’s Department of Special Education has modified school timings for special needs children across the province. Effective from January 10 till the end of February, schools will now operate from 9 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Saturday. Fridays will conclude at noon.
Recognizing the weather’s impact, the department relaxed the dress code, permitting students to wear sweaters and jackets of their choice alongside their uniforms.
Earlier, the provincial government extended the winter break until January 9, initially planned for a reopening on January 1, due to the persisting cold. Similarly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Education Department prolonged the break till January 7, a move challenged by the Private Education Network (PEN), urging reconsideration.
