RDA Grants Educational Institutions Concession for Academic Year
Following directives from the Director General of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, concessions have been extended to educational institutions until the culmination of the current academic year.
The Land Use and Building Control Wing of RDA has halted legal actions against illegal educational institutions, responding to requests from school owners, with the suspension in effect until the academic year’s conclusion.
This measure aims to ensure uninterrupted educational activities for children, enabling them to complete their academic year without disruptions caused by RDA’s legal actions.
Under the directive, school owners who have established schools in residential buildings without proper approval must swiftly regularize their schools per the law. Alternatively, they are required to cease the unauthorized use of buildings in residential areas.
These owners have been urged to submit an affidavit within 15 days to RDA, affirming their readiness to either regularize their illegal schools or discontinue the unlawful use of buildings. Failure to comply will result in a fine of Rs 1000 per day until regularization or vacation of the buildings used for commercial purposes.
Non-compliance within the stipulated timeframe will lead to legal actions against the violators, potentially resulting in the closure of the schools in violation of regulations.
