Smart classroom in Sahiwal College
In Sahiwal, a significant educational advancement took place as the Higher Education Commission (HEC) inaugurated the first-ever smart classroom at the Government Graduate College (GGC) on Friday, marking a pioneering move in the public sector college division.
This division hosts more than 29 public sector colleges catering to both male and female students. Sources revealed that the HEC allocated Rs20 million, sourced from CPEC project funding, for establishing this innovative smart classroom within the college premises.
This initiative extends beyond the GGC; over 100 educational institutions, primarily universities, have been seamlessly connected online through similar smart classroom endeavors. Notably, the local campus of Comsat University had previously established its own technologically advanced smart classroom, equipped with cutting-edge resources facilitating modern teaching methodologies.
The essence of these smart classrooms lies in their integration of state-of-the-art technology, enabling the implementation of progressive teaching approaches. This initiative is part of a broader smart education strategy aimed at revolutionizing traditional teaching methods by leveraging online information and communication technologies.
In addition to these advancements, the initiative encompasses the provision of WiFi coverage throughout the college campus, further enhancing the educational environment.
Dr. Mumtaz Ahgmed, the College Principal, shared insights with Dawn, expressing that the smart classroom strategy signifies a transformative learning approach. It assists both educators and students in seamlessly integrating information and communication technology (ICT) into the educational fabric, marking a pivotal step forward in education.
